Philip, age 61 founded, built and sold two businesses operating in the construction sector and specifically in facilities management. Skillbase and the Durley Group were grown to £45 million and £15 million before being sold to John Mowlem plc and Enterprise plc respectively. 

Philip’s skills are in identifying opportunities, developing sales and marketing strategy and building relationships with key customers. He is an effective networker and has shown multiple times that he can build businesses in conjunction with good management.

Prior to creating his own businesses Philip implemented a turnaround of a major northern engineering company before selling it to a plc. He has various non-executive directorships, predominantly within businesses in which he has made an investment. 

He currently owns and chairs the board of Bowmer Bond Holdings, a manufacturer of industrial textiles.
